Tom has 35 years of experience with real estate finance and law. Prior to Green Gate, he founded and led – as the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel – the real estate investment and lending company Visio Financial Services and Econohomes from 2006 to 2013. Named to the INC 500 at No. 116 with 3042% growth, Econohomes was the largest nationwide investor in bank owned real estate with properties owned in 45 states. With over 2,000 property acquisitions and sales annually, Econohomes provided its limited partners with returns ranging from 12% to 40% with average returns in the mid 20% range.
Tom has worked with companies in the U.S. and in the Russian Federation to obtain debt and equity from Eurobonds for Russian banks to initial public offerings for U.S. residential builder rollups and venture capital financing for technology companies. He has worked in regulatory compliance with in areas of securities law, banking law, and corporate governance.
Tom has a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Tom believes in community: stated simply that elder care is best delivered by caring practitioners in a homelike facility run by local owners who value the welfare of their patients and employees.
